Doctor Who Series 6: Omega 2 Theory

Me and Combom have been Discussing many things over the past few days but one of the things that has come up is the Omega Symbol, i've been watching Some of the Series 5 Episodes, i have only spotted these in episodes which feature River Song, we have come up with a Good theory why, this is what we have been Discussing;

We think that The symbol shown earlier is linked with this Theory that we created ourselves:

River Song is a follower of Omega (Omega is the symbol shown in the Thumbnail of the post), It was said that the clerics in "Time of Angels" were religious, it didn't state WHAT religious, we think that the clerics and River Song are followers of Omega, Are they're any more of them?

Somehow Omega Comes back (or it is set before he turns evil) and River somehow Kills him, as it was stated in "Flesh & Stone" that she killed the best man she ever knew, The ones she follows (Omega). Although Omega is a dead man he isn't Always a dead man, Time Can be Re-written, but he can regenerate, which links to the 2 lines on the Omega Symbol, meaning the 2nd regeneration.

Yet again, could this be something to do with "The Silence"?

Lets hope this hasn't been a waste of time.

  1. Mind me making a counter point, or two … ?

For starters, I personally believe River Song — at some point — will kill the Doctor: there’s that whole “Does He Know” conversation in The Time of Angels.

And in their conversation at the end of Flesh and Stone to me, seems to imply “the best I ever knew” … was the man we know she marries …

    Then there’s Revelations 1:8

    Warrior Monks, remember …

  2. As theories go this one is a cracker and quite a lot of me hopes this to be the case. The idea of Omega, religion and his followers could be quite a controversial one but fits in nicely with Moffet's little signifiers and clues - and yes, I believe he's purposely leaving stuff for future plotlines.

If you're wrong then it wasn't for want of thinking outside the box.

  3. Honestly, this sounds way too convoluted to be true.

River Song a follower of Omega? Does she really strike you as the sort of woman who follows anybody? And given what we've been shown about her, why would she hold a bugnut crazy ancient exiled Time Lord in higher esteem than The Doctor?

I'm with Nik Nak on this one.

  4. Thanks, @Ironhappypants!

I’m think, here, that sometimes, the simpler explanations are the best ones …

  5. You do realise all those Omega symbols have Alpha superimposed over them... as in "I am the Alpha and Omega" from the Bible.

    I think you're reaching a bit.

  6. @Nick i don't see the superimposed Alpha. even if it were stylized, it looks nothing like Alpha

  7. @RandyZ
That's because a capital alpha looks like an Arabic capital A. So the rectangle within the Omega could easily be a stylised A with the croccbar removed.

  8. if you take away the crossbar, it becomes pi.

  9. I for one hope Graske and Combom's theory is correct because I want to see this Omega already and I think if River Song “killed the best man she ever knew” and that’s the Doctor then that’s too obvious and predictable and Moffat would never make it that simple and rightly so. At the prospect of seeing this Omega, I’m finally getting excited about series 6.

  10. Also the omega symbol was seen on the cot of baby Melody in the pre title scene of AGMGTW, Melody of course being River...

  11. Much has been made of the Roman symbol for #two within the stylized symbol for Omega - "the second regeneration of Omega?" quite possible. It could also mean "two identities in one person or being"
Here's a thought - 11 could also stand for eleven - or the eleventh regeneration of the Doctor. The number eleven is featured prominently in the fail trailer. Could this mean that Omega and the Doctors are two halves of a whole?
Omega did escape his antimatter universe briefly - came to earth in the form of the fifth Doctor (Peter Davison). Could the doctor have tricked Omega into coming to earth as the Doctor again to have a young Melody Pond kill him (believing he was the Doctor) This would kill 3 birds with one stone 1. Get rid of Omega (who would be more dangerous than the Daleks) 2. Get rid of the impending Doctor, death sentences 3. It would be a great way to locate Melody Pond for his best friends - Melodies heartbroken parents.
